The frequent flyer program of Avianca and its subsidiaries is LifeMiles. This program is to reward customer loyalty. The membership is free and users can register online. LifeMiles members earn miles every time they fly with Star Alliance members, Avianca subsidiaries, or use services in some hotels, retails, car rentals, and credit card partners. They came to us to help them re-do their mobile apps, the backend, and the frontend.

The users need to earn and redeem their LifeMiles on everything they pay for by using an Avianca LifeMiles credit or debit card on plane tickets, hotel stays, rental cars, and other travel-related activities and on daily purchases in retailers, restaurants, gas stations, among others.
We worked towards changing the approach of the loyalty program app in order to expand it as a commercial tool to attract customers to stores, to make customers receive categorized promotions, and earn LifeMiles after their transactions.
Since the customer was not clear on all business logic and requirements, we acted as a partner and extended team by helping them define business goals and the users’ needs through workshops with prototypes.
These findings helped us nail down what were the users’ thoughts and real needs. Also, provided us with all the requirements to define the overall scope of the project and refine the user stories for the development team.
