This year has been all about nonstop activities at Applaudo. New customer’s projects, new members joined the team, new Trainee Programs, we celebrated tons of birthdays, holidays, and another Applaudo anniversary, our team has been invited to top digital events in the country where they have participated as speakers or workshops, but mostly, we have been looking to make an impact and empower young people to prove El Salvador has world-class talent.
Part of our goal as a company is to make a better country for the new generations and to help the Salvadoran talent become great professionals and believe in themselves, to let the world see the enormous potential that El Salvador has.
In 2019, we had the opportunity to support the different digital communities in the country. We have met so many young people with incredible capabilities that only reaffirm that in El Salvador we can achieve big things.
There are tons of local tech communities for you to choose according to your interest and for each community you can participate on several events, meetups, workshops throughout the year.
Here are some of the communities we have had the honor to support:
- NodeSchool San Miguel
Software Development community in eastern El Salvador
Software Development community
- Microsoft Developers
Community for Microsoft Developers and technology professionals
- GeekGirlsLatam El Salvador
Tech community for girls who do tech
- Android Developers SV
- WordPress El Salvador
- PMI El Salvador Chapter
Project Management community
- Open Hardware
Tech community focused on the development of open source hardware
Each community takes the responsibility of the planning and logistics of their event, events that help create a networking environment for Devs, Designers, QAs, Project Managers and anyone who is interested in being part of the tech industry, because this is their goal: to help and learn from each other.
It is truly admirable to see how each person contributes to build a collaborative ecosystem in which everyone can grow. For us, it has certainly been a privilege to be part of this.
The events revolve around supporting Salvadoran talent to improve their skills in Software Development. This is why it is important for us to support local tech communities, whether it is with talks or workshops from our Senior team members, sponsorship or in any other way we can help.
El Salvador is slowly growing into a tech destination and some of the events where we have participated in are celebrated around the world. For instance, Local Hack Day is a worldwide celebration hosted by Major League Hacking in which people participate in a hackathon and bring their ideas to life. This year the event was organized and hosted by NodeSchool San Miguel. Our team had the opportunity to mentor the team and guide them to make the best out of their projects.
We were also the hosts and speakers of the World Interaction Design Day, an annual event that brings together global communities for one goal: to show how interaction design improves the human condition. The event is organized by the Interaction Design Association and Adobe and Uxcatlan was the official host and organizer in El Salvador.
There are no doubts that our country has everything to become a tech destination and we are committed to support the different digital communities in the hopes of transforming El Salvador and change our country’s future. Let’s not forget that each local tech community thrives on the input it gets from you and other developers in the area. El Salvador’s tech communities are only big because there are many people who are willing to put in the effort.
So, if you are a Dev, Designer, Project Manager, DevOps, QA, we encourage you to get involved in your local communities and make them grow. As for us, we want to keep supporting each community and helping them in anything we can.
Are you part of a digital community? Contact us, we want to hear from you!
