Spectacular is the best way to describe the Gardens by the Bay in Singapore.

This site was the selected location for Dell Women’s Entrepreneur Network evening reception. I spoke with Dell Technologies Chief Customer Officer Karen Quintos about how Dell believes in women and minority owned businesses as the underpinning of the economy.

Both Karen and I live in Austin, Texas and as we were joking about how our home city of Austin was baking in the heat this summer, we shifted to the topic of Global warming. She shared her viewpoint with me on how she truly feels like SMBs (Small and Medium Businesses) would be the change agents for not only big global issues like Global warming, but also solving problems that will make our world more livable for future generations.

I shared with Karen about how a couple of Applaudo’s clients like Benchmark Analytics and The Helper Bees are using our software development teams to create mobile and web apps that bring training to police officers and match caregivers with elderly respectively. She was impressed with Applaudo’s partnership with customers to enable them to build powerful software products that will indeed make our world a better place to live.

The evening ended with a dance party electrified by the energy and dance moves of over 200 women!
